Department of Kaumarbhritya

The Department of Kaumarabhritya is a specialized branch of Ayurveda that focuses on the health and well-being of children, encompassing neonatal care, infant health, childhood diseases, and adolescent development. Rooted in the classical Ayurvedic texts, Kaumarabhritya emphasizes preventive, promotive, and curative aspects of pediatric health, including care for both the mother and child during the prenatal and postnatal periods. The department plays a vital role in nurturing a healthy future generation through traditional Ayurvedic practices, herbal formulations, and holistic developmental strategies. With a blend of ancient wisdom and modern pediatric insights, Kaumarabhritya aims to provide comprehensive care from birth through adolescence. The Department is involved in teaching undergraduates in the field of Kaumarabhritya. In the hospital, it provides outpatient and inpatient services along with Swarna Prashana every Pushya Nakshatra. Also, a periodical health camp is organized for screening of undernutrition in children as well as other specific diseases.
